Sandra Rwese and I as college mates has a lot to learn from the ongoing “mutually beneficial trades” that China has embarked on all over the world and Africa in particular.
Sandra who is a consultant for Chinese business operations and tourism in Kenya and Uganda told me how difficult the roadmap to Africa’s business environment is for Chinese investors especially in hospitality and cultural expectations.
I’m all for China and Africa’s relationship. I hope Africa plays its own game well beyond their scope of insecurities and low self-esteem that has plagued them since Arabs invasions, Islam and Europeans’ mistreatment of Africans for almost 2000 years combined.
Its a scene to behold as I watch in fascination at China’s skillful diplomacy. Excellent.
Its becoming more imperative to hold on to China’s quests for veritable trade networks, except with great caution and forthrightness as we gradually disentangle business ties with Europeans and become trade-independent with a Chinese partnership. As they say, a billion population to a billion population, perfect match.
